SHRUBS & TREES FOR 2009 SEASON
APPLES TREES
Haralred    Apple:  zones 3-7, winter hardy to -40 degrees, full sun.
Medium-sized red fruit.  Uses: pies, sauces, freezing & baking.  Ripens in early October.
1.        Yellow Transparent Apple:  Zone 3 – 6, winter hardy to -40 degrees, full sun. Medium sized golden
yellow color especially for sauces & baking. Ripens in late July.
LILAC SHRUBS
1.         Miss Canada Lilac:  Zone 2 -7, winter hardy to -50 degrees, height 6 – 9’ 5 – 8’ spread.  Fragrant &
attracts butterflies.  This prolific pink flowers bloom in mid-June and is   nonsuckering.
2.         Beauty of Moscow Lilac:  Zone 3 – 7, winter hardy -40 degrees, height 10-12’, 8’ spread.
Double delicate pale pink flowers.  Blooms in mid –May.  Provides years of satisfaction.
3.         SENSATION LILAC:  Zone 3 – 7, winter hardy -40 degrees, height 8-10’, 8-12 spread.
This eye-catching French Hybrid lilac has single fragrant deep purple flowers bordered
with distinctive white edge that blooms in May.
4.         DWARF KOREAN LILAC:  Zone 3 -7, winter hardy to -40 degrees, height 4-5’, 5-7’ spread.  This
variety has red-purple buds opening to single pale lilac flowers.  The small, dark green foliage develops a
showy purple tinged fall color.  
5.        WEDGEWOOD BLUE LILAC:  Zone 3-7, winter hardy to -40 degrees, height 6’, 6-8’ spread.  This
unique lilac has lilac-pink buds opening into very large sing true-blue blossoms in May, disease resistant
foliage.
WINTERGREEN  LITTLELEAF  BOXWOOD     Evergreen shrub, ‘Wintergreen’  Zone 4-9, winter hardy -30
degrees, drought tolerant, height 2’, 2-3’ spread.  This attractive broadleaf evergreen has delicate bright
green foliage which changes o copper green color in winter.  Responds well to shearing and is an excellent
plant for a low hedge
CENTER GLOW NINEBARK Flowering Shrub, full sun, Zone 3-7, winter hardy -40 degrees, drought
tolerant.  Height 8-10’, spread 8-10’.  Amazing bright burgundy-red foliage adds color all season long and
the new leaves emerge with a glowing yellow-green color. Spring flowers are creamy-white blossoms.
DWARF BUSH HONEYSUCKLE   Zone 3-7, winter hardy to -40 degrees, & drought tolerant
Height 4,’ spread 3-4’.  Yellow flowers in late spring to early summer.  The glossy bronze tinted foliage
turns red in the fall.
